Everything you need to know about fencing at NQFA
No! Our beginner course is designed for people with no fencing experience. We teach you everything from scratch. All equipment is provided.
Our beginner course is $144 for 4 weeks (includes all coaching and equipment). After that, ongoing membership is $70/month. We also accept the Play On! Sports Vouchers ($200 value).
We accept children from age 9. Our kids program is designed to be fun, safe, and age-appropriate.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and enclosed shoes (runners/sneakers). We provide all fencing equipment including jackets, masks, and weapons.
We train at PCYC Aitkenvale, Barbara Bricker Function Room, 126 Wellington Street, Aitkenvale, QLD 4814.
We train on Tuesdays (4:30 PM - 6:00 PM) and Fridays (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM).
Yes! We provide specialist coaches for school extra-curricular teams, PE classes, and fencing for fitness and fun. We also offer Professional Development for Teachers including Beginner Fencing, Level 0, and Level 1 Coaching Courses. Schools are required to purchase fencing uniforms for participants. Yes! We have fencers competing at local, state, and national level. Once you've developed your skills, we can help you enter competitions.
We teach Foil and Épée. Young children (primary school age) start with Foil, while teens and adults learn Épée. Both are exciting Olympic weapons with their own unique style.
